ESTABLISHMENT OF STUDENT SOCIETIES, ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHER STUDENT RUN BODIES

26. Procedure for Establishment of Student Societies, Organizations and other Student run bodies

All the societies, organizations and other bodies run by members of the Student Body shall be registered with the Student Council.
A society, organization and other bodies can be initiated by a group of at least 20 members of the Student Body.
Members of the Student Body willing to initiate a society, organization or other bodies shall follow the given procedure for affiliation under this Constitution.
The members shall provide a write-up to the General Secretary and the Cultural Secretary of the Student Council.
The write up shall contain the following details:

(i). Name of the proposed society, organization or other body.

(ii). Reasons for initiating the proposed society, organization or other body.

(iii). Aims and Objectives of the proposed society, organization or other body.

(iv). Proposed contributions of the society towards the Student Body

The Student Council Core Members or the members appointed by the Core Members shall review the proposal with the members proposing to initiate the society, organization or other bodies.
On satisfaction, the Student Council shall forward the proposal to the JGLS Dean (Student Initiatives) for her or his approval.
Upon approval, the society, organization, or other bodies shall be formally incorporated and registered with the JGLS Constitution.
The affiliated society, organization, or other groups shall be eligible to receive funds from the JGLS Student Council Treasury.
The members of the society, organization, or other bodies shall lay down the administrative guidelines for the functioning of the society, organization, or other bodies and draft their Constitution within one month of incorporation.
In case of a conflict between the provisions of this Constitution and that of the society, organization, or other bodies, the provisions of this Constitution shall prevail.
