GENERAL ELECTIONS, CLASS REPRESENTATIVES’ ELECTIONS AND BATCH REPRESENTATIVES’ ELECTIONS

 

 

16. Guidelines for General Elections and Class Representatives’ Elections

 

• The General Elections shall be held every year in the fourth week of the Spring Semester i.e., February, for the Core positions of the JGLS Student Council as specified under Part III of this Constitution.

• The qualifications and requirements for candidates willing to participate in General Elections for Core Members’ positions are provided under the Schedule I to this Constitution.

• The General Elections shall be conducted by the members of the outgoing administration of the Student Council along with the Election Commission nominated by the JGLS Dean (Student Initiatives).

• Elections for Class Representatives shall be conducted by at least one Core Member or any other offficer(s) as appointed by the Core Members of the JGLS Student Council within one week after the General Elections.

• The qualifications and requirements for candidates willing to participate in Class Representatives’ Elections are provided under Schedule II to this Constitution.

• The voting and open Vote Counting for Elections for Class Representatives shall be conducted on the same day presided over by at least one Core Member of the JGLS Student Council.

• Elections for Batch Representatives shall be presided over by the Core Members of the JGLS Student Council.

• Elections for Batch Representatives shall be held within one week after the JGLS Student Council General Elections.

• The Voting and Open Vote Counting for Elections for Batch Representatives shall be conducted on the same day presided over by the Core Members of the JGLS Student Council.

• The new administration of the Student Council shall assume office within one week of the annual General Elections and Class Representatives’ Elections.
