MEETINGS, QUORUM, ATTENDANCE AND VOTING
17. Quorum Meetings

The Student Council shall meet at lest once during each month of the academic year, except during vacations and exam periods.

The President shall determine the order of such meetings.

Special meetings may be called upon the directive of the President, or upon the directive of any of the Core Members of the Student Council. A Batch Representative can advise the General Secretary to call for a meeting regarding a certain agenda.
18. Batch Representatives Meetings

The General Secretary shall meet all the Batch Representatives at least once during each month of the academic year, except during vacations and exam periods.

The General Secretary shall determine the order of such meetings.

19. Class Representative Meetings

The General Secretary and Batch Representatives shall meet all the Class Representatives at least twice each month of the academic year, except during vacations and exam periods.

20. Voting Rights

The Vice-President, the General Secretary, the Cultural Secretary, the Treasurer and the Batch Representatives shall serve as the voting members of the Student Council.

The President shall have the Veto power to put an agenda for second reading after the first voting.

The President may vote only when her or his vote may be required to break a tie.

A simple majority of one half of those present plus one, except as provided in this Constitution, in a Student Council meeting with members sitting in quorum, will be required to approve proposals.

The Class Representatives shall serve as the voting members of the Student Council during the meetings with the General Secretary and the Batch Representatives, and in impeachment proceedings, removal proceedings and filling up of vacancies.
21. Attendance

A member must be present for the entire meeting to be counted as present.

If a member is absent from three Student Council meetings within a semester then she or he shall have the opportunity to speak on her or his behalf, and give reasons for absence in oral or writing to the Core Members of the Student Council.

The President and the Vice-President may recommend that the Student Council vote on whether to retain that member in the Student Council and issue a show cause for it to the defaulting member.

She or he shall not be present during the discussion and voting regarding her or his impeachment.

Upon having received the show cause, if the member does not meet with the President and Vice-President within two weeks, the President and Vice-President may, without meeting with that member, recommend that the Student Council vote on whether to retain that member.

A two-third vote of the quorum shall be required to remove that member from the Student Council.
